Agnes died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Meeks, Sr., and son, James Edward Meeks, Sr.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Stanton and Terri Combs and husband David; one son, Edward Meeks, Jr.; three sisters, Eloise Cox, Frances Camp, and Margie Parker; one brother, Alton Godwin; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
The family has requested contributions be made to: Sudan Children's Hospital, PO Box 490, New Bern, NC 28563-0490.
