Carl Burr

Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Carl Ernest Burr, Sr., 74, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, September 21, 2013 in the VA Medical Center.
He was born on October 12, 2938 in Sampson County to the late Ernest and Annie Sessoms Burr.
Mr. Burr retired from the US Army after 20 years of service and two tours in Vietnam.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services in Hope Mills. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Gilmont Cemetery.
Mr. Burr was preceded in death by a daughter Joy Carlene Burr.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carol Gore Burr; daughters, Wendy May and Linda Burr; son Carl Burr, Jr. and his wife Kim; grabdchildren, Kelly Brinkley and her husband Stephen, Jeremny May, Elijah Burr, Emily Burr, Audrey Burr, Jeb Burr, and Cassidy Burr; great grandchildren, Destiny Paschal, Jason Paschal, and Travis Brinkley; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Burr was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew hom.
