Carrie Creech Groves left her earthly body on Friday, Feb. 6th at 12:55 AM, with her family by her side. She joined her beloved grandmothers, Shirley Matthews Beck and Ruby Graham Galloway, along with her precious mother-in-law, Esther Potteat in Heaven! And I am sure her best friend ever, Meredith was waiting for her with open arms. They are all rejoicing in her arrival and celebrating that she is no longer in pain or suffering her battle with cancer. She was a Warrior!!
We that are left behind will miss her beyond all measure and beyond all time! She is survived by her husband of 3 years, Elisha Groves who is her protector, her champion and was her high school sweetheart! Elisha re-entered her life with perfect timing and when she needed him the most. He made these past years the best of her life and showed her true unconditional love. She leaves her mom and dad that she refers to as her “birth-vessel” and “daddy!!” She has and will always be a daddy’s girl! She leaves her “ Big Sis” Brandi Elmore and her husband Thomas (aka- Turk).
She also leaves behind her in-laws - Valerie Harrington ( husband Joseph), Tiffany Parker ( husband Gill), Doug Groves ( wife Tammy). Her children that she adored even when they drove her crazy, David Webb, Jordan Webb, Brittany Hales (Josh), Clint Groves ( Tayler), Haley Groves. Her two heartbeats that called her Nana - her granddaughters - Tessa and Alannah Hales. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews that she loved and who knew her as ‘Aunt Kakee’, and they also knew not to call her by any other name! She adored her cousins and great Aunts and Uncles - especially Tater! She leaves coworkers and friends that have become part of our family because of her love for them! Ma Dukes and Bonequesha she loved you both!! Last but certainly not least, she leaves her “Anchors in Christ” - Aunt Edith and Uncle Eddie.
She spent her adult life in positions that served others. She began at the Breezewood Church of God of Prophecy daycare on Legion Rd in Hope Mills, taking care of others’ children as if they were her own. She worked at the Cancer Center at North Pavillion off of Ramsey Street showing her true heart for cancer patients! She worked at the Cape Fear Neurology Center when she became ill 2 years ago and they showed up for her at every treatment she had at Cape Fear! She touched so many lives in each of these positions and in return her life was touched and blessed by so many of these lives! We cannot express how grateful we are at this time for each and every one of you - she was my Squash Blossom and I pray I will see her again! Momma
SHE STOOD IN THE STORM,
AND WHEN THE WIND
DID NOT BLOW HER WAY-
SHE ADJUSTED HER SAILS!
