Catherine Ann Atkinson

Catherine Ann Atkinson, 68, of Pittsboro, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Born on July 4, 1958, Catherine was the daughter of the late Richard and Waltrant Atkinson.

She is survived by her sister, Deborah Richardson and husband Dennis Sunnell; brother, Richard "John" Atkinson and wife Sherry; nieces, Sarah Atkinson and Kat Kibben; nephew, Christopher Richardson; and a host of other family and friends.

Catherine graduated from UNC Chapel Hill, earning a bachelor's degree in psychology. After college, she worked for the City of Chapel Hill as a bus driver before retiring after 32 years. Catherine will be remembered for her love for making jewelry and Christmas ornaments for her family and friends. as well as her famous board games. She was an avid UNC fan and loved going to the beach.

Catherine will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
