Christine Maynard

Christine S. Maynard, 78 of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center after a long battle to COVID-19.

Born in Dunn, NC, January 16, 1943, she is the daughter of Nancy and Davis Strickland.  Christine was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend and Sunday School teacher.  She enjoyed being a Servant to the Lord and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Davis Strickland and Nancy Maynard Strickland; husband, Simmie Carnes Maynard, 2 daughters, Crystal Lee Maynard and Jennie Marie Maynard; son, Stevie Maynor; 3 brothers, Preston Strickland, Wilford Strickland, Brass Strickland and a sister, Helen Johnson.

She is survived by a son, Robin Dale Maynard; 3 brothers, David Strickland, Roger D. Strickland, and Andrew D. Strickland; 4 grandchildren, Jeannie Maynard, Ashley Maynard, Loree Scott and husband James and  Brittany Maynard; nine great grandchildren, Tamatha Wallace, Ashanti McPhaul, Dustin McPhaul, Haley Scott, Aubree Scott, Tristian Maynard, Mysti Maynard, Jaedyn and Simmie Marshall.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2021 at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services of Hope Mills with a graveside service to follow at 3 p.m. at Maynard Family Cemetery in Dunn.
