David Ray Krauter, 87, of Fayetteville, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, in his home with family by his side.

Born on November 14, 1938, in Comfort, TX, David was the son of the late Harold and Lucille Reeh Krauter. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Krauter and sister, Juell Brown.

David is survived by his wife, Elsie Krauter; daughter and caregiver, Lisa Hosea and her husband James; daughter, Kelli Gilder and her husband Greg; sister, Lucille “Tootsie” Brown; grandchildren, David Hosea and his girlfriend Nadia Adalath, Steven Hosea, Ciara Faircloth and her husband Jason, Hunter Gilder and his fiancée Emma Smith, and Hannah Krauter; great grandsons, Bentley Momb, Brayden Momb, Waylon Momb; a great granddaughter on the way; and a host of other family members and friends.

David will be remembered for his hard work and dedication to everything he set his mind to throughout his life. Whether honorably serving his country in the U.S. Army or becoming a skilled welder later in life, David was a man of many gifts, skills, and talents. Being a man of faith, he was a longtime member Layette Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He loved his church family but loved his family even more. His love for them was so strong that he was never truly able to get over the loss of his precious son Jeffrey. He was devoted to being a good provider, husband, father, and grandfather and made them all his top priority. As determined as he was, David did have a playful side as well. He had a sense of humor not everyone quite understood, but that made him the character he was. The impact he had on the people he met over the years will not be easily forgotten.

David will be greatly missed and forever cherished by everyone who knew and loved him.
