David Mclaurin

David Mitchell McLaurin, 66 of Fayetteville, passed away on September 25, 2022.

Born in Cumberland County, he is the son of the late Buster Hickman and Jodie Maxine McLaurin. He is also preceded in death by his niece, Jamie Nicole Easingwood and his nephew, James Lee Alexander.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo McLaurin; daughter, Jennifer Matthews and Rusty; sons, Wayne Matthews and wife Stephanie, Justin Matthews and wife Audrey; grandchildren, Hunter, Landon, Connor, Addilynn “Moo-Moo”, and Levi; sisters, Patricia Goggio and husband Jeff, Debbie Easingwood and husband JD; brother, Samuel Wayne Tew; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Betty Jean.

David was a devoted husband, and he loved his grandchildren. He had a very special bond with his grandson, Landon. He liked Drag-Racing and was a die-hard Ford fanatic. David was a true-blue collar man; he was very patriotic and was an Eastover neighborhood greeter. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
