Douglas Rogers McQueen

October 29, 1960 — January 28, 2026

Douglas “Doug” McQueen, 65, of Smithfield, North Carolina, passed away on January 28, 2026, after a valiant battle with kidney cancer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Claude “Rogers” McQueen.

Douglas is survived by his sons, Joshua McQueen and Nicholas McQueen; Aileen Kelly and her son Jack; his mother, Virginia (Parrish) McQueen; his uncle Robert McQueen and wife Nett McQueen; and his sister Terry (McQueen) Phillips and her husband Thirston Phillips. He is further survived by Terry and Thirston’s children, Zachary Phillips, Jared Phillips and wife Beth Phillips, and Candice (Cassidy) Kunasek and her husband Brandon Kunasek; along with his great-nieces and great-nephews, Caelan Phillips, Maddox Phillips, Jaxson Phillips, Bryleigh Phillips, Skylar Nobles, Jax Kunasek, and Adeline Kunasek.

Douglas was previously married to Bobbie Goodwin, with whom he had his two sons.

Douglas devoted 45 years to Ferguson Enterprises, where he served in many roles and was respected for his reliability and work ethic. A devoted family man, he took great pride in his family and in caring for his home, yard, and keeping things in order. An avid Dallas Cowboys and Richard Petty fan, Douglas was a man of few words who showed his love through action. Known affectionately as “Bo,” he was punctual, disciplined, and calm—unless one of his boys was testing his patience. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
