Edward Russell Riddle went to be with his Heavenly Father on February 18, 2026. He is now fully restored and healed, rejoicing in the love of Jesus. He joins his parents, who he loved dearly, Lewis Edward Riddle and Beulah Jane Jackson Riddle.
Edward proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal for Berlin, and the Sharpshooter Badge. Shortly after, he began his career with the State of NC as a driver license examiner, retiring as the Eastern District Supervisor after 30 years of service.
He also faithfully served in his church on the Pastor’s Counsel, Boys Club, and Finance Committee.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Dorothy; children, Kimberly, Jennifer, DeAnn (Tommie), Brent, and Brian; along with eight grandchildren, Justin (Ashley), Courtney, Megan (Kaine), Cobi, Ryan (Madison), Kaitlyn, Alex, and Bella. He was also a proud Papa of eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor, Tinley, Colton, Jensen, Giovanni, Kasyn, and Juniper. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Fields of Florida, and a host of extended family and friends.
Edward was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
