Evelyn Hollingsworth Dale, fondly known as Guppy, was welcomed into eternal rest surrounded by the love of family and the promise of heaven. A life well lived, Guppy will be remembered for a heart full of kindness, a spirit of generosity, and a deep, abiding faith in the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Payson and Annie Mae Scott, husband, Thomas Dale Sr. and Grandson, Christopher Tyson.
She is survived by her Daughter, Donna Schilling and husband Chuck of Vero Beach, Fl., Daughter, Debbie Hollingsworth of St. Pauls, NC, and her 5 grandchildren, Kelly McVay and husband Jay of Columbia, SC, Amanda Hulon and husband Jason of Hope Mills, NC, Allison Schilling of Wilmington, NC, Frankie Stedman and wife Charissa of St. Pauls, NC, Kayla Schilling of Chicago, IL, and 8 great grandchildren, Chris Schilling, Matthew McVay, Lylah Stedman, Emmy Stedman, Daniel Hulon, Skylar Hulon, Rosie Stedman and Daisy Stedman.
Guppy devoted a lifetime to caring for others, always placing family first and offering encouragement, wisdom, and love to all who crossed their path. Known for a gentle strength and unwavering integrity, Guppy's presence brought comfort, laughter, and peace into every room. Whether through quiet moments of conversation or steadfast support during difficult times, Guppy had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved.
Faith was the foundation of Guppy's life. Trusting fully in God's promises, Guppy lived with hope, grace, and assurance that this life was only the beginning. That faith carried Guppy through every season and now provides comfort to those left behind, knowing that Guppy is rejoicing in the presence of the Lord.
Guppy leaves behind cherished family members, dear friends, and a legacy of love that will continue to guide and inspire future generations. Though deeply missed, Guppy's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.
A celebration of Guppy's life will be held at Pinecrest Funeral Home on Sunday, December 21, 2025, where family and friends will gather to honor a life marked by faith, love, and service.
