Fairley Keve Carter, 82 of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
Born November 7, 1942, in Sampson County, Fairley was the son of the late Roy Lee and Beatrice Simmons Carter. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Adam Keith Carter and his brothers, Glenn Dale Carter, Floyd Lee Carter, and James Earl Carter.
Fairley is survived his loving wife, Edith Marshell Carter; daughter, Stefanie Carter Herring and her husband Joel; daughter-in-law, Michelle Barefoot Carter; brothers, Rev. Don Carter and his wife Loretha, Percy Carter and his wife Farrell Rose; and Gary Carter and his wife Ann; special Nephew, Robert Jarman III; several other nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Known for his hard work and dedication, Fairley always tackled any tasks set before him with the utmost determination. He spent most of his life working as an OTR trucking driver which he enjoyed every minute of. His love of the open road eventually led him to starting his own company, Carter and Son Trucking, which he owned and operated for several years. In his free time, he loved spending time with family and living life to its fullest.
Fairley will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, and will be deeply missed and forever cherished by everyone who knew and loved him.
