Freddie "Ping" Simms Cole, 76, of Hope Mills, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Born October 31, 1943 in Cumberland County, Ping was the son of the late Seldon and Grace Campbell Cole. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Kit Carpenter Cole; brother, Billy Cole; and sisters, Jean Jackson and Bonnie Hawkins.
He is survived by his son, Chad Cole and wife Teresa of Hope Mills; daughter, Tracy McLeod and husband Randy of Hope Mills; son, Brad Cole and wife Melissa of Hope Mills; grandchildren, Ally McLeod, Madilyn Cole, Marlee Cole, Roy Fulcher and wife Annie,and Brittany Fulcher; great granddaughter, Layah Gonzales; sisters, Helen Townsend and husband Don, and Becky Gilliland and husband Mike; and a host of other family members and friends.
Ping was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
