George Clifton Covington

George "Cliff" Covington was born on November 19, 1966, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2026.

Cliff is survived by his wife of twenty-one years, Amy Covington; their two sons, Tyler Covington (wife Baylee) and Jr. Gardner (wife Lizzy); and one daughter, Emily Covington. They have been blessed with five grandchildren, Easton, Mason, Andrew, Abby, and Barrett "Bear". 

Being a man strong in his faith, Cliff served as an elder and associate pastor of Cumberland Baptist Church and Hope Bible Church for seventeen years. He served his community as a member of the York County Sheriff's Department in South Carolina for eight years. In addition to his community, Cliff honorably served his country for several years, becoming a Captain in the South Carolina Army National Guard. His military career included deployment to Afghanistan and Iraq, and earned him numerous ribbons and medals throughout his service. 

Cliff was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed and forever cherished by everyone who knew and loved him.
