Gerald Ray Owens passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of April 13, 2026 surrounded by family.
Ray was born October 8, 1942, in Fayetteville, NC, to Lula Mae Hollingsworth Owens and Joshua Joseph Owens.
He will forever be remembered as a dedicated father, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by a daughter, Donna Owens Sweatt and her husband Scotty; a granddaughter, Michelle Sweatt Celis; a grandson, Brandon Sweatt and his wife Mia; and one great-grandson (coming soon), Miller.
The family will receive visitors at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services in Hope Mills on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow immediately afterwards.
Interment will follow the service at Willow Dale Cemetery in Goldsboro, NC.
