Ret. Army Master Sgt. Hilbreth Paul "Doc" Britt, Jr., 79, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016.
Born October 18, 1936 in Robeson County, he was the son of Hilbreth, Sr. and Columbia Britt.
He served for over 26 years in the Army, including Special Forces, before retiring.
Mr. Britt was preceded in death by his parents, Hilbreth Britt, Sr. and Columbia Britt; son, Stevie Lowery; brother, Jerial Britt; and sisters, Betty Jo Inman and Frances Dew.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie Britt; sons, Jeffery Lowery, Joel Lowery, and Michael Britt and wife Barbara; sisters, Johnnie Ray Hester, Emma Jane Dew, Marie Simmons, and Becky Britt; 7 grandchildren, Rebecca, Michael & Fiancee' Kristie, Matthew, Shania & Fiance' Adam, Josh, Jessica, and Rachel; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Britt will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
