James Edgar Clair

James Edgar Clair ("Pappy") was born on June 24, 1953 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to James and Florence Clair.  He passed away peacefully in Fayetteville, North Carolina on February 23, 2026.  

He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence and his dad, James, his sister Karen Walker, his niece Dianna Valentin and two great grandchildren: Dillon Tyler and Paisley Powell. 

If you knew James, you knew he loved his family.  Whether he was watching his favorite sports teams (the Carolina Tarheels and the Pittsburgh Steelers) or cooking his famous wings, he enjoyed spending time with his family.  Our lives will never be the same without "Pappy", especially around the holidays.  He will be missed by so many who loved him dearly.  

He leaves behind his children: Courtney Clair (Chuck), Jennifer Tyler, Lisa Locklear (David), Brian "BK" Clair, and Lori Clair. His grandchildren: Taylor Clair, Delainey Douthett, Kaitlynn Jones (David), Brandon "Bubba" Powell (Kaylee), David Locklear (Ashlyn), Allyson Clair, Cameron Tyler, Jackson Tyler, and Kayla Revels. His great grandchildren: Kaydence, Ta'Vaya, Gracelynn, Sebastian, Azsabella, Azsriel, Cash and the love of his life, Janet Clair.  He also has siblings and a huge family in Pennsylvania that will miss him very much. His passing has left a big hole in our hearts.
