Jerry Randall Sides

Jerry Randall "Randy" Sides, 65, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 30, 2026.

Born on December 21, 1960, in Alamance County, North Carolina, he was the son of Raymond and Verona Sides. Randy attended Bennettsville High School and graduated in the class of 1979. He joined the United States Air Force in 1979 and proudly served for 20 years. For the past 21 years he was the Logistics Manager at Sierra Nevada Corporation Telecommunications in Fayetteville. Randy and his wife Anne were happily married for 43 years and raised 2 children, Justin and Ashley.

Randy loved to play any and all sports throughout most of his life. In school he played football, baseball, basketball, and golf. While in the Air Force, he played softball and golf on base teams. He's always been an avid golfer and really enjoyed being on a golf course. No matter what the sport was, Randy just enjoyed competition, and whether it was on the golf course or on the ping pong or pool table he was usually winning. Randy loved music, especially beach music and he loved to shag. He also enjoyed going to many different NASCAR tracks with his son, brother, nephew and father. His greatest joy was his family though. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren so much and enjoyed spending time with them any way he could.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Raymond Sides and brother-in-law, Mark Himes.

Randy is survived by his wife, Anne Sides; son, Justin Sides (Kim); daughter, Ashley Locklear (David); grandsons, Lucas and Jacob; sister, Debbie Watson (Harold); brother, Rusty Sides (Janet); brother-in-law, Tim Himes Sr. (Amy); a niece; and many nephews.

He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
