Mr. Julian Leon Bain, 78 (Gray’s Creek), Hope Mills, NC went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2026. Mr. Bain was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church for over 55 years. He died after a long battle with cancer.

Mr. Bain was born to James Leonard Bain and Lillie Mae Bain in Cumberland County. He was a loving husband, father, son, papa, great-papa, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him.

He was an electrician for over 40 years and owner of Julian Bain Electrical Contractor since 1975. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, Florida. He served in the US Army from 1967 to 1969 with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was an avid bass fisherman, gentlemen farmer, and deacon emeritus of his church. He loved his family, his church family, and this country without doubt.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Leonard Bain and Lillie Mae Bain, grandson, Evan Bain Windham, and his father and mother-in-law Cicero & Peggy Maxwell.

Mr. Bain is survived by his wife of 56 years, Darlene M. Bain, his three daughters, Michelle Eastwood (Micah) of Hendersonville, NC, April Kendall (Paul) and Julie Windham (Stan) all of Hope Mills, NC. He is survived by his brother, Gary L. Bain (Lawana) of Floral City, Florida and sister, Deborah Golden (Gerald) of Kinston, NC. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Leona Ruthig (Gunnar) of Robbinsville, NC, Bethany Eastwood (Cole), and Makayla Eastwood of Hendersonville, NC, Garrett Windham, Daniel and Samuel Kendall, all of Hope Mills, NC, and great grandsons, Landyn Ruthig and Artie Ours, nephews, Blake Maxwell, Shane, Josh, and J. J. Golden, Gary Bain, Jr. and nieces, Amanda Holley, Esther Morris, and Samantha Maxwell Dunnavant.

Funeral services for Mr. Bain will be conducted at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 4721 Dunrobin Drive, Hope Mills, NC. Visitation will be January 23, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the service following at 2:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in the Mount Vernon Baptist Church cemetery, 3184 County Line Road, Fayetteville, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boys and Girls Home of Lake Waccamaw, NC at boysandgirlshomes.org or Samaritan’s Purse of Boone, NC at samaritanspurse.org. The Bain family has entrusted the services to Pinecrest Funeral Home, Hope Mills, NC.
