Kristie Michelle Autry, 43, of Fayetteville, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, after an extensive battle with leukemia.
Kristie was born on August 25, 1981, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. It was at that moment she began impacting lives and continued to do so over the years, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her bright smile and warm personality earned her many friends throughout her life, all of whom she loved dearly.
As a teen, Kristie became a volunteer firefighter at Stoney Point Volunteer Fire Department before continuing her education at ECU to pursue her love of medicine. She later worked as a paramedic for Cape Fear Valley EMS as well as for Pembroke Rescue. Her dedication to helping others would lead her to becoming an EMS instructor at Fayetteville Technical Community College teaching future paramedics the tools of the trade. Kristie also spent time working with others at CSL Plasma and at her last beloved job with Raleigh Durham Medical, whose staff and patients she held dear to her heart.
Kristie is preceded in death by her stepfather, Lawrence Gallagher and her infant brother and sister, Benjamin and Elaine.
She is survived by her mother, Paula Gallagher; father, Kenneth Autry; brother, Chad Autry; and nephew, Owen Autry; as well as her stepmother, Valerie Autry; stepsisters, Christy and Natalie; special sister and cousin, Erin Wall; special sister and friend, Sommer Smith; and a host of other family and friends.
Kristie will be deeply missed and dearly cherished by her family and friends until the day comes we all meet in Heaven to be together forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to honor Kristie be made to the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at unchealthfoundation.org.
