Kyle Mark Fishbaugh

November 6, 1974 — January 28, 2026

Hope Mills, NC

Reverend Kyle Mark Fishbaugh, 51, of Hope Mills, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Born November 6, 1974, in Brockport, NY, Kyle was the son of Karl Fishbaugh and Cheryl Shaver Fishbaugh.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Kathryn Fishbaugh; maternal grandparents, Ralph and June Shaver; and father-in-law, Charles Hendrickson, Jr.

Kyle is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Liz Fishbaugh; parents, Karl and Cheryl Fishbaugh; mother-in-law, Jean Hendrickson, uncle and aunt, Kurt and Cheryl Fishbaugh; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of other extended family and friends.

Kyle was a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology and Campbell Divinity School, both of which helped him pave the way for the amazing life ahead.

He will be remembered for the hard work and dedication he applied to any task set before him. This was evident in his work ethics over the years while working in the printing and food service industries before eventually becoming a court counselor for juvenile justice.

Strong in his faith, Kyle believed in helping everyone to come to know or deepen their relationships with the Lord. He did this in numerous ways, including serving as a youth minister and associate pastor at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, teaching Sunday School at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, being a part of the worship technology team at church, serving as a chaplain at Scotland and Morrison Correctional Facilities, and by being a volunteer chaplain at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Kyle greatly believed in giving back to the community and was willing to help however he could. He enjoyed lending a helping hand with building wheelchair ramps and decks, assisting with Operation In As Much, and even fostering dogs with his wife Liz.

Being an avid lover of the outdoors, Kyle enjoyed numerous outside activities in his spare time such as skiing, fishing, riding motorcycles, traveling, and camping to name a few.

Kyle loved all kinds of sports, rather it was watching or playing. He was a lifelong Philadelphia Flyers hockey fan as well as a diehard fan of the Auburn Tigers football team and the Washington Commanders. When he wasn’t watching sports, he could be found participating by playing golf, hockey, and baseball; bowling; honing his skills as a pinball wizard; or simply playing cards, especially euchre.

Also, he was quite the talented individual who loved sharing his great listening skills, amazing sense of humor, and his deep love for music, singing, acting, and playing the guitar. His impact on the lives of those he encountered over the years will never be forgotten. Kyle will be deeply missed and forever cherished by everyone who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, First Baptist Church on Anderson Street, Hilton Baptist Church, Campbell Divinity School, or to a charity of one's choice.
