Libby Lynn McAllister (nee Wright) was born to Edward Lee Wright and Betty Ruth Young on May 18, 1949, in Winchester, Kentucky, a few minutes before her identical twin sister Vicki. She passed away on November 12, 2025, in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
In 2004 Libby retired after 35 years working for the Army and DOD, first in the secretarial field and finally as a GS-13 Logistics Management Supervisor. She loved her work, the 10 plus years living in Germany, and the knowledge that her work was an important part of providing young soldiers the equipment and supplies they needed.
In 2005 she, and her husband Bob, built a home in North Carolina. In 2014 she and Bob also purchased a home in Florida and relished the idea of spending the cold NC months in the warm Florida sunshine. She was not a cold weather person.
There was an intense passion for reading, often devouring 4 or 5 novels a week.
She is survived by her beloved husband Bob, her twin sister Vicki Stickrod, and the two most important people in her life, her daughters Tamy Compton (Greg) and Beth Uding (Ben). They were her world.
She could also boast that she was the proud Grandmother of 6 and the Great Grandmother of 12.
Libby's vitality, kindness and compassion will be missed by all who knew her. She is now at peace, no longer shackled by the physical pains she endured in the last years of her life.
