Ida Mae Lanham, 84, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in her home with family by her side.
Born on November 1, 1941, in Charleston, WV, Mae was the daughter of the late Dallas T. Lanham and Viola V. Lanham. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, George T. Lanham, Natchee W. Lanham, Dannie K. Lanham, all of Charleston, WV, and Dallas W. Lanham of Richland, NC; sister, Aretta A. Bell of Charleston, WV; and great grandsons, Gabe and Tracy Held of Sumter, SC.
Mae is survived by her husband, Paul G. Lanham of Fayetteville; sister, Iva L. Forester of Salisbury, MD; children, Kimberly A. Kirk (Eddie) of Sumter, SC and Mickela L. Perryman (Ron) of Mountain Home, ID; grandchildren, Ronnie M. Perryman (Emily) of Mountain Home, ID, Stephanie M. Prentice (Matthew) of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Danielle L. Perryman of Odessa, TX, and Jason P. Held (Danielle) of Sumter, SC; great granddaughter, Gemma R. Perryman of Mountain Home, ID; and a host of other extended family and friends.
As a woman of faith, Mae continued to build her devotion and spiritual strength as a member of Hope Mills Methodist Church. She strongly believed in helping the community and proudly did so as a member of numerous organizations such as the Order of the Eastern Star, Shrine Ladies Auxiliary, Elks Club, Lions Club, United States Air Force Family Services, as well as several other volunteer service organizations. Mae was always ready to give her time and incredible listening talent helping others.
She will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
