Mary Anne Skipper

Mary Anne Skipper, 76 of Hope Mills, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Born July 9, 1935, in Washington, DC, Mary is the daughter of the late Eldridge and Sarah Harry.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dianne Greiff.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Lester Miller Skipper of the home; three daughters, Deborah Ann McClure and husband Sam of Benton, TN, Linda Lee Clementson-Clark and husband Steffan of Athens, TN, and Sarah Jane Schowe of San Pedro, CA; two sons, Charles V. Clementson and wife Faye of Watersboro, SC and Lester M. Skipper and wife Linda Clark of Hope Mills; sister, Peggy Royce and husband Bob of Naples, FL.; brother, David Harry and wife Charlene of Raleigh; 7 grandchildren, Samuel Jason McClure, Jennifer Keith, Christina Keith, Gina Thompson, Charles “Chuck" Clementson, Brandon Skipper, and Angela Marie Bowling; 12 great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Mary attended Harvest Baptist Church and enjoyed caring for the elderly, playing Bingo, and going to yard sales.  She was also a member of the Sycamore Tree Sr. Citizen’s Group.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services of Hope Mills, conducted by Rev. E. Norwood Tadlock and Rev. Jimmy Arnold. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2012, at the funeral home.
