Maurice Eugene Jackson

Maurice Eugene "Gene" Jackson, 74, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in his home with family by his side.

Born August 30, 1950, in Robeson County, Gene was the son of the late Dobbin and Lillian Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Nedra Jackson and brother, Wade Jackson.

Gene is survived by his children, Craig Jackson, Denise Hayes (Charles), Tim Jackson (Melina), Tara Jaramillo (Carlos), Jennifer Butler, and Daniel Forrest (Jerry); grandchildren, Amanda Jackson, Stephen Jackson (Madison), Melanie Hayes, Ashlyn Hayes, Lily Jackson, Alex Jaramillo, Taylor Butler, Eli Forrest, Sara Jackson, Izzy Forrest, and Elizabeth Jackson; great grandchildren, Kyleigh Jackson, Madelynn Jackson, Christopher Stewart, Dawson Jackson, and Ellie Jackson; siblings, Tommy Hagens, Barbara Wade, Carolyn Baxley (Charles), Cathy Odom (Clarence), and Eddie Jackson; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

Gene was a hard worker who took pride in any task set before him. Working as an industrial mechanic for several years, his attention to detail showed in everything he accomplished. In his spare time, he enjoyed porch sittin', fishin', bitchin', and drinkin' warm beer. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by everyone who knew and loved him.
