Michael Jeremy Grant

Michael “Mike” Jeremy Grant, 35, of Hope Mills, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

Mike served in the U.S. Army for 16 years from 2010 to 2026, going right in after high school. He achieved the rank of SFC as a drone pilot. He deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, Germany, Poland, and Korea, and served with honor.

He is survived by his parents, Chuck and Brenda Grant; brother, Gary Jacobson and wife Jessica; sister, Amanda Singletary and husband Derrick; sister, Tiffany McNeill and husband David; five nieces and nephews, Kameron, Kendall, Maddie, Makayla, and Levi; and by Anita Grant of Sandusky, OH. He loved all of his family very much, especially his nieces and nephews.

Mike’s favorite thing to do was to cook for everyone. He always made plenty, most times too much, but everything would always have his famous spicy mix on it. He absolutely loved his spicy food; nothing was ever too hot. He would simply grab a mason jar and mix whatever he could in there.

In his spare time, Mike always enjoyed many things, including playing video games, fishing, kayaking, mountain biking, and helping his friends with or doing DIY projects.

He was always a jokester, being the life of the party. Mike knew how to make everyone laugh and have a good time. His favorite sayings were always, “It’s okay.” or “It will be fine.” or “Don’t worry about it.”

Being just a free-spirited person, Mike was one who enjoyed and loved the adventure and travel of life. He will be truly missed by so many.
