Nancy Cashwell Edwards

Jul 18, 1950 — Oct 7, 2026

Fayetteville, NC

Nancy Cashwell Edwards, 76, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, went to her heavenly home on October 7, 2026.

Nancy grew up in the Massey Hill community of Fayetteville, where she attended Massey Hill High School. Massey Hill was always a special place in her heart. It was where she grew up, made lifelong friendships, and met the love of her life, Paul Edwards.

Nancy and Paul were married and built a wonderful life together. In 1970, they opened their upholstery shop on Powell Street in Massey Hill, where they worked side by side for many years. Their shop became a familiar part of the community, and together they earned a reputation for their hard work and dedication.

While Nancy worked alongside Paul in their upholstery business, her greatest joy was being a mother to their two daughters, Pamela and Paula. Nancy was the mom who did it all. She went on school field trips, helped with fundraisers, and made sure her children enjoyed every adventure childhood had to offer. Whether it was taking the kids to Putt-Putt, going to the movies, or finding something new and exciting for them to do, Nancy was always there. She never seemed too busy to make another memory with her girls.

Nancy also loved bringing her family together, especially during the holidays. She regularly prepared Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, filling her home with family, laughter, and wonderful food. She was especially famous for her homemade biscuits, which were everyone’s favorite. Those family gatherings and the love that went into every meal will be cherished memories for generations to come.

When she wasn’t working in the upholstery shop or taking care of her family, Nancy enjoyed playing bingo. She was a regular at Hope Mills Beach Bingo on Hope Mills Road, where she enjoyed the games and the company of friends.

Nancy was especially close to her sister, Kathy Davis, and the two enjoyed spending time together, including trips to the beach. She also treasured her friendship with her best friend, Eula Akers, whom she regularly visited. Family and friendship were always important parts of Nancy’s life, and she made time for the people she loved.

Nancy had a way of making ordinary days special. She worked hard, loved her family, enjoyed her friends, and knew how to have a good time. Whether she was working beside Paul, cooking a holiday dinner, playing bingo, or taking her children on another adventure, she put her heart into everything she did.

Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Porter and her husband, Jamie Porter, and Paula Reese and her husband, Scott Reese, all of Fayetteville; her brother, Ronnie Cashwell; four grandchildren, Brandon Porter, Bailee Porter, Ashley Gibson, and Sierra Reese; and three great-grandchildren, Grayson Brown, Jax Easter, and Drew Porter.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Edwards; her parents, Luther Cashwell and Irene Spence; her sisters, Linda Altland and Kathy Davis; and her brother, Larry Cashwell.

Nancy will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her memory will live on in the family gatherings, the holiday dinners, the stories told around the table, and the countless happy moments she created for those she loved.

Most of all, Nancy will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, cherished sister, and loyal friend.

She was the mom who did it all, and the love she gave will never be forgotten.
