Peggy Frances Gainey, 77, of Hope Mills, passed away October 19, 2024.
Born in Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Martha Johnson Barefoot. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Tanner, Edna Haar, and Polly Jackson.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam Gainey Edge; son, Jeff Gainey & wife Shari; grandchildren, Jordan Casper & husband Johnathan, Alex Edge, Logan Gainey, and Landry Gainey; great grandchildren, Raleigh, Graham and Sarah; sister, Hazel Tart; brothers, Gale Barefoot, Gary Barefoot & wife Teresa and Tony Barefoot & wife Cindy. She is survived many nieces & nephews that loved her dearly.
The family would like to thank the staff at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and the hospice nurses for the care that was given Mrs. Gainey.
