Penelope Gardner

Penelope "Penny" Jane Nalls Gardner, 76, of Thomasville formerly of Fayetteville passed away October 12, 2026.

Born in Washington, DC she is the daughter of the late Earl Melville, Sr. & Dorothy Wood Nalls. She was also preceded in death by her son, Kyle Gardner; siblings, Earl Melville Nalls, Jr., Betty Fortune, Carolyn Willis, Carolyn Willis, Lawrence Walter Nalls and John Thomas Nalls.

She is survived by her granddaughter Tenley Gardner, her nephew Brian Willis and husband Nick, Niece Betsy Akers and husband Billy, Niece Stephanie Nalls and Sister-in-law Diane Nalls. She is survived by numerous friends and family members including 2 very special friends Bunnie and Uschi.

She loved to travel and loved to spend time with her family especially her granddaughter, who she called her doodlebug. Her friends describe her as sweet, caring and very loving. She was the baby of 6 children and had a special bond with her sister Carolyn and Brother Larry. She loved the Lord and enjoyed listening to Christian music with her nieces especially the song I’ll fly away.
