Raymond Richard Woodard of Fayetteville, NC, passed away peacefully at home beside his wife, Barbara Woodard, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

Born on February 19, 1947, in Ticonderoga, New York, Raymond was the son of the late Earl Woodard and Martha Hall Woodard. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Demitria Woodard; his daughter, Edith Woodard; 3 sisters; and 4 brothers.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara McKeown Woodard; brother, John Woodard; daughter, Dawn Woodard Richmond and husband, Jeffrey Richmond; son, Raymond Woodard Jr.; and stepdaughter, Gwen Kennon. Grandchildren, Danielle Coulson and husband, Mark Coulson, Mandi Woodard Toms and husband, Steven Toms, and Raymond Woodard III and wife, Vanessa Woodard. Along with many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.

Raymond Woodard grew up in Ticonderoga, NY, where he was a volunteer firefighter who enjoyed dressing up as Smokey the Bear for the local 4th of July gatherings. He played & taught baseball for many years and won several 1st place trophies. He was a very talented artist, woodworker, and craftsman. He enjoyed many years of baseball, golf, fishing, and many other hobbies. He loved to laugh and enjoyed joking with everyone. His smile would always fill any room with joy.

Raymond was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church in Hope Mills, NC, where he had many friends.
