Robert Bundy

Robert Bundy, 72, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Born in Cumberland County, Robert was the son of the late Lonnie “Bobby” and Sarah Lee Bundy. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Sue Sherman.

Robert is survived by his wife, Patricia Bundy; daughters, Bobbie Graves and husband George, and Angela Barefoot and husband Mitchell; sister, Ellen Harris; grandchildren, Brandi, Christopher, Ryan, Melissa and Kelly; and great grandchildren Madison, Craig, Marshall, Zoey, Carson, Malakye, Colton, Hendricks, Braden, Bristol, and Tripp.

Robert started as a City Firefighter in 1973. From 1974-1984, he was both a Firefighter and Police Officer at the Fayetteville Airport. He became full time as a Fayetteville Police Officer in 1984 until his retirement in 2014. He loved what he did working with good people and the love of the job. Before retiring he worked on the river trail and enjoyed talking and meeting people.

 He loved fishing and being at home with his dog Ariel. He loved working in the yard and helping his neighbors.

 Robert will be deeply missed and forever cherished by everyone who knew and loved him.
