Ronald Anthony Matarese, Jr., 60, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026.

Born on March 26, 1966, Ronald known by his friends and family as Ronnie was the son of the late Ronald Anthony Matarese, Sr., and Constance Ciraolo.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Dean Matarese; Daughter Katelyn M. Connell and husband Alex; Son, Anthony Matarese; Grandchildren, Bella Rose Connell and Roman Alexander Connell; Brothers, Mario Matarese and wife Stephanie, and William Fairbanks; Sister, Kathy Johnson and husband Nick; Stepmother, Cheryl Matarese; Mother-in-law Edna G. Dean (Mama); Several nieces and nephews and a host of other close family and friends.

His love for the outdoors extended into his career in lawn maintenance. Along with his love for the outdoors, Ronnie loved to spend his free time making beadwork and keychains, as well as cooking, which he deeply adored. It was never a dull moment with Ronnie. He would always keep you laughing. His humor will always be remembered in our memories.

Ronnie was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
