Ruth Blake Barr, age 85 of Hope Mills, NC passed away at her residence on Monday March 10, 2014.
She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Hope Mills, NC.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Harry Barr, her parents, John W. Blake, Sr. & Mae Spence Blake, her brother, John W. Blake, Jr., a son, William Blake Faircloth, 2 grandchildren John & Cameron, 2 great grandchildren, Ravan & Zachary.

She is survived by four daughters, Marianna Calhoun & husband Michael of Wilmington, NC, Rebecca "Tom" Matthews, Curri Young & husband Barry and Doralynn Lewis & husband Alan all of Hope Mills, NC ; 2 sons, Cam Faircloth of Monroe, GA and Walt Beck of Fayetteville, NC; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. Her dear special sister, Merle Johnson of Hope Mills, NC. Two very special people, Karen and Kenley whom she loved so much as well as a host of nieces , nephews & cousins.

A funeral service will be held Friday March 14, at 2:00 p. m. in Friendship Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tom Hayes and Rev. Gary Lucas. Burial will follow in Hope Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p. m. Thursday at Pinecrest Funeral & Cremation Services in Hope Mills.

The family expresses its sincere appreciation to the community Home Care & Hospice of Fayetteville, especially Mary, Denise, Jamie and Chaplain Gary Lucas and longtime pastor Tom Hayes.
