Shirley Barnes

Shirley Jean Barnes, 82, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the Angel House of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Whiteville, NC.

Born April 18, 1940 in Cumberland County, Shirley was the daughter of the late Joseph Preston and Leola Phillips Hales. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Casey Alan Barnes, Sr.; brother, David Hales; and sister, Ruth Hultz.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Tina Barnes Blakely of Burlington, VT and Cassie Barnes of Fayetteville; son, Casey Barnes, Jr. of Wauchula, FL; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
