Born in Wilson County, he is the son of Furman and Rebecca Coley Blankenship.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Guichard; son, Terry Guichard bpth of the home; brother, Glenn Blankenship and wife Judy of Fayetteville; 3 nieces; 1 grand niece.
