Vance McLinden "Mac" Worsley, 55, of Blowing Rock, North Carolina, formerly of Hope Mills, gained his angel wings on April 3, 2025.
Born in Hope Mills, Mac graduated from South View High School in 1987 before attending Appalachian State University — a place that held a very special place in his heart. While attending college he worked at Woodlands Barbeque where he continued to work for 30 years.
Mac had a big and generous heart, and a genuine love for people. He had a deep love for music and enjoyed attending live concerts and supporting any live band he could catch. He was also an avid darts player and a proud member of a local dart club and Moose Lodge. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing golf, and spending time at the beach whenever he could. A passionate sports fan, Mac proudly cheered on the Appalachian State Mountaineers, the Carolina Tar Heels, and the Carolina Panthers. More than anything, he loved and cherished spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Braxton McLinden Worsley Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Vance and Kate Ratley; and his paternal grandparents, Braxton and Edna Worsley.
He is survived by his parents, Glenn and Sherry Rogers of Hope Mills; brother, Michael Worsley and wife Denise of Wintersville, NC; sister, Ashley Rogers of Hope Mills, NC; nephews, Braxton Worsley and Cruz Campbell; niece, Addison Worsley; a very special cousin whom he shared a special bond with, Carolyn Revell, of Hope Mills, NC; a host of cousins, and many friends and extended family who will forever remember his kind spirit, his love for people, and his deep connection to the mountains.
