FAYETTEVILLE - Wilbur Burns, 83 of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012. Mr. Burns was a longtime owner and operator of Burns Equipment Company. A devoted Christian, he was a member of Aaran Lake Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Donnie Burns; brothers, Tillman Burns, Lonnie Burns, Lloyd Burns, Robert Burns and Marvin Burns.
Mr. Burns is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alice Burns, daughter Pam Burns Lineberger and her husband Todd Lineberger, son Kenneth Burns and daughter Cynthia Burns. Mr. Burns was blessed with four grandchildren, Sarah Lineberger, Hannah Lineberger, Brett Burns, and Brittani Rowell. Mr. Burns was a simple, honest, and reliable man loved by all.
Services: Monday 2pm Pinecrest Funeral Chapel. Burial in Gardens of Faith Cemetery, Lumberton, NC. Visitation: Sunday 6-8pm at Pinecrest Funeral Home, Hope Mills, NC.
