William “Harry” Harrell, 74, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
Born on February 6, 1950, in Duplin County, Harry was the son of the late William “Jim” Harrell and Mary Effie Harrell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Harrell Lucas, and his beloved best friend and brother-in-law, Carey Odom.
Harry was a man of extraordinary dedication and hard work, serving as the service business manager at Smith International Truck Center for 38 years. He built strong relationships with everyone he worked with and was renowned for his vast knowledge of the service industry and mechanics. Harry seemed to know everything about his field, a testament to his intelligence, passion, and commitment to excellence.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 56 years, Estella Harrell; his loving children, Kimberly Harrell Sanchez, William Ryan Harrell and wife Nicole, and Jeremy Bryan Harrell and wife Crystal; his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Sanchez, Brandon Sanchez, Alaina Sanchez, Madeline Harrell, Lacie Norton, Bradley Harrell, William Aiden Harrell, and Joshua Harrell; and his sister, Margaret Harrell Odom.
A man of incredible warmth and generosity, Harry was known for his love of bluegrass music and the mountains. When he wasn’t working, he was always helping neighbors and friends. He loved everyone he met, had the best sense of humor, and the biggest heart.
Harry will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
