Winston Carlie "Buck" Matthews, 70, of Hope Mills died Monday, February 4, 2014, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
He was born June 5, 1943, in Roseboro, NC, to the late Carlie Daniel Matthews and Mary Robinson Matthews. He was retired captain with the City of Fayetteville Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlie Daniel Matthews and Mary Robinson Matthews; and sister; Mary M Yowell.
Mr. Matthews is survived by his wife, Kathryn E. Matthews; son, Winston Jr. "Lee" and wife, Winde; daughter, Carla and husband, Jody McCall; brother, Dr. Charles E. Matthews; grandchildren, Sidney, Ben, Elizabeth, and Rebecca; and many nieces and nephews.
